5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I've tried to figure out how I'm going to afford the $1500 to get my RK-Sport ground effects kit painted and installed on my 2007 Hybrid, but Christmas shopping has completely drained my wallet. So rather than sit on the body kit for who knows how long until I can gather the money, I figured I'd try to sell the kit to someone here who can actually use it, since it's already been sitting in my garage for 6 months. Here's the post on the For Sale forum:
If anyone is interested, make me an offer. Or if anyone knows somebody in Central CA (San Jose area) who can paint the kit for a reasonable price ($500?), then please let me know.

Yeah to put the lip kit on, itz just double side tape.
it is posting two threads with the same topic from the same member. not only is it against the rules but it is unfair to those who do follow the rules and not duplicate and waste space. in other words its a not so sneaky way to get more exposure. i may be seen as an asshole point it out but i'm not the one doing it...
and 3m does have a special industrial strength double sided tape for such panels. but i'm not sure they would hold too well with a small bump to them

I held my tongue on replying to this comment, but since JSM just addressed this in another thread, I'll just link to his official response as a forum moderator. selling most of my stuff!!
So you're right, you were an a-hole for incorrectly pointing it out.
I'm still looking for a cheap option to get the bodykit painted locally so I can actually keep it. Because it's just a lip kit, I'm not overly concerned with having all the pinholes filled in the uerethane, and getting it exactly 100% paint-matched. I just want someone to shoot the paint (which I can even provide) and then I can install the kit myself. b.t.w. I tried using the spray cans from PaintScratch.com, but that is how I found out that doesn't work very well for such a large item. So anyone in central CA (from SF to Monterey) who knows of a cheap paint shop (or even a hobbyist that wants to make some extra money), please let me know.

you are referencing a totally different subject. Here, w203 is saying that the OP posted the same thing in 2 different sections. The thread that JSM is referring to is the fact that he was selling something in the gen 5&6 forums..
I interpreted his comment differently than you, IMO he was p.o.'d that I referenced my 4sale thread in this forum, even though the intent of this thread was to find a cheap paint shop. But whatever, I could care less about what he thinks, which is why I didn't reply to him in the first place. Peace.

Why does it cost $1500 in the first place? Razzi paints their kits for ~ $500 according to the mfg color code or color match to whatever you give them and I paid $100 for installation at a local body shop. Are you sure they quoted just painting to you
