Gen5 2006 camry TOMTOM Install

I have a TOMTOM 510 and i bought the Permanent install kit for my car, well i guess the TOMTOM people have a sense of humor, cause the kit may work in a Volkswagen's.

Anyone got any ideas on how to permanently install this in my 2006 Camry.
I had a guy look at it, and he can make a wireharness that will work with the one given, he needs to know if the radio has a built in AMP or is the amp separate from the radio.

So if anyone knows how to permanently install tomtom510 in th car or if the radio has a built in amp or seperate amp, please advise.

Gen6

I wouldn't install it permanently unless you can fit it into the dash.

Any external installation is inviting a broken window theft...

I have no idea how big the TomTom is, but will it fit into the space ahead of the gear shift so you can close that little door and block the view? I keep the control head for a radio transceiver in there and it makes it less theft-worthy.

in that spot, you cant pick up the signal from the satellites.. i also wouldnt do the permanent install unless you plan on totally redoing your dash to make it look OEM.
