5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I am converting my 06 Camry LE to a SE almost done with what I plan on doing all i want to do is change my rims to 17's instead of my 15's with hub caps still :P Another thing im looking at doing is finding a way to change my LE trim emblem on the back with something custom either CSE or with a slash on the L and an S added, i want it to be different because i'm doing the work myself.
by the way the fogs believe it or not since its an 06 le are in there with great foam...its actually better then you think
and heres what i kinda want to do with my trim emblem maybe just the L or the whole thing...

First of all, Remove the stickers on the rear doors.
Just go to a junk yard, Snatch a few emblems off cars and mix and match them to your liking
lastly, If that is a Plug and play HID kit in your lights REMOVE IT!!

i like it....
but the decals and stickers need to go....as do the hubcaps
and you need the body colored strip that goes above the liscence tag in the rear to replace the chrome piece...SE is the onl;y trim level with that body colored
other than that, looks good
keep it clean and simple bro and you will be golden, Im going through the same process as you with the SE conversion, Im going to do a blend of both SE and LE, I know you painted your headlights black, I had thought about doing the same thing but I decided to purchase the OEM SE headlights instead since I got a good deal on them. Good choice on deciding to go with 17s and I am assuming since you are wanting to go with an SE theme you may want to look into getting the 07/08 SE 17 inch wheels, also dont forget SE tailights are a shade darker in red than LE/XLE, you might want to look into tinting the taillights a bit, I know I will...
Here is where I am with that, I have yet to put the SE headlights on (havent had time) but here is my 05 camry with 07 SE wheels on, I love them and as soon as I put them on my camry, I got compliments on the camry everywhere I went, I didnt understand why because to me its soo simple, but thats the beauty of it I suppose:
Before w/ Hubcaps:
After w/ SE wheels:
Good Luck with your conversion!

i didnt go with OEM SE lights mainly for price i thought 3 dollar black paint was a better choice :P also i do really like the TRD 18's but i bet they sure do literally want my arms and legs for those.... I do like how 17's look and its still enough tire to be a good ride how much you spend for your wheels and did you get them at the dealer?
ALSO.....in case anyone cares... that spoiler is from a 98' honda prelude, my bro's old one i went to get it painted and put it on so it cost me 180 for paint and i put it on myself i also painted the grille myself i didnt buy it the HID's are my bros old ones too only i bought bulbs that fit my car and blah blah wired them to work with the ballasts i had so again 30 dollars for HID's there mounted below the lights behind bumber...didnt take pics but i could next time i remove the bumper for anything

Dude, the ride is nice....Im more of an 18s kind of guy, but another deal I couldnt pass up and it was through a private seller, the combination of these wheels and tires didnt affect the ride at all, and gives it a sporty feel...try to get someone to photoshop it on your car to see if you like it.

looks great man, just get those rims, change that trunk piece, and remove a couple emblems on your trunk, there's too many back there IMO. maybe remove the Toyota one and move the emblems around.
and you might look into changing the taillights into the SE ones b/c they are a little darker.
and....you're set.
