Side Air Bags, 2002-2006

I had a 2005 Toyota Camry LE 4cyl, and bought it new. I really wanted the side air bags, which were an option at the time, for safety, but most cars weren't equipped with them. I am attaching a poll to see how many people opted for them, or didn't, and if you want to leave a comment on here as to why you opted for them, or skipped them, that's cool. Just curious.

My parents have the most basic model Camry, the 2003 LE I4. It doesn't even have ABS.

No side airbags on my '05. Bought it one year old so I had no choice. I wish it had them, but I still feel safer in my Camry than a lot of other cars out on the road. A coworker has a 2002 Camry I4 LE without side airbags (though she added ABS) bought new, and a friend has a 2002 Camry V6 LE with side curtain airbags [no side torso airbags; 02-04 curtain and torso airbags were separate] passed down to her from her brother who bought a 2007 Camry.

bought my '02 off the Used Car lot and it had them already as well as every other feature available..except Nav.
