Exclamation Please HELP! Radio/Navi Look-a-like - which one?

I was purchasing TCH with UP package - (Blue tooth, Audio, wheels, etc., no navigation and no moon roof). My goal was to get custom leather, navigation and backup camera.

Dealer gladly installed everything custom for me and said that they cannot install factory navigation unit that comes with fully loaded Camry's (made by Eclipse) and they have to use Radio/Navi look-a-like (fits perfectly into dashboard) and they have to use aftermarket unit.

The unit they installed comes from http://oeradio.com/ - model TY-6100. It is not bad over all but:

* It doesn't work with bluetooth/phone buttons on the steering wheel. It means that in order to make a call or even pick-up I have to use the screen. Which is as you can imagine could be dangerous while driving (huge deal);
* It doesn't have the CD changer - just single disk (not a big deal);

My questions are:

1. What aftermarket look-a-like unit do you use for your Camry. Do you know of any?
2. Do you have any other recommendations for me? I am trying to replace audio/radio unit that came with my Camry and package UP (no navi) with navigation/audio system;
3. I've heard some of you purchased NAVI units from OEMValue.com - do you know any reliable installer in the SF Bay Area that will do a good job installing system like that?

Thank you for your help!

Gene.

Look into the TY-6101N. It has the remote steering button option. I don't have time to verify if it will work...... Contact their service/support department. "OERADIO"

The install manual and wiring diagram isn't working, on the site for the TY-6101N.

Look under TY-6101N specifications, General:

GENERAL
Steering wheel controls ( SWC-1 included)
3 Infrared remote controls
OE chassis (all-in-one)
Internal cooling fan w/ thermal overheat protection (TOP)

It might be that the installer didn't know about this model.

If you had factory JBL, you could have installed the factory NAV...

This is a horrible, horrible unit. Do not go for this one. My dealer finally got one for me for XLE and enabled energy screens so I have an OEM unit now and it is great.

The OERADIO unit is a disaster - maps are outdated and confusing, it takes a while for it to show anything on the screen, audio is horrible, interface is slow and confusing. Just stay away!

Reaching the screen to take a phone call is not a big deal nor do I think it is dangerous. The screen is close enough, i.e. in reach of the driver and you already let go of the steering wheel with one hand for many other occasions - like sipping on your coffee.
So, I don't understand how that can be a big deal to start with. I have the steering wheel control and still tap the screen most of the time because of reflex - when the phone rings the phone screen comes up with a big red phone button!!!
