Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I am going to be changing around the Audio in my 08 Camry. I do not have the JBL or Nav system, just the basic. I think I would like to keep the factory head unit, but want to possibly add an amp and some better speakers...... Anyone have any suggestions? I would replace the whole head unit, but it just looks nice and seamless as is!!
Also, I need a DIY for removing the stereo and all so that I can permanently mount my Sirius Stilleto 2....Any such links??

For speakers, keep in mind that our Camry's have 6x9's up front and rear. I'm not a fan of 6x9's so I'm gonna have some custom baffle adapters made to fit 6.5"'s and broaden my options to run a component set up front. It also depends on your budget.

You beat me to the punch!
Yes you will need to go with JLaudio cleansweep or other similar products which is like a line or rca output converter to be able to connect aftermarket speakers to your headunit.
If, on the other hand, you decide to go with an aftermarket 2-din Headunit, you will need to get a dash kit.
I'm still not totally convinced the JL clean sweep is the way to go.
It looks like a good product, but the price tag of the clean sweep is kind of a lot.

Then go cheap, hack it up and don't complain about the sound quality
That comment is like saying..."I'm not convinced that a car is the way to go. It looks like a good product, but the price tag of a car is kind of a lot. I think I will just save my money and ride a bike instead. It will get me from A to B."

The factory HU has undefeatable EQ settings built in to compensate for the (low) quality of the speakers. Aftermarket speakers could sound worse than the factory ones because of the EQ settings. Like others have said, you have to pay to play.
Are you going to get a sub? If yes, you might consider removing the rear speakers completely and getting a decent amp and front components. Imaging is better if you go that route.
Also audition the speakers before you buy. Don't buy based on reviews. I read a lot of good things about MB Quartz QSC and QSD line of components, however, I did not like them at all when I sampled them because the tweeters sounded harsh or overly bright.
Go find a JL dealer where you can sample what a Clean Sweep does so you can hear the difference.
Haha wrong, its comes with the car, i had when i picked mine up.
Small key chain like piece of paper with info about the car. I cant remember what it said but mine had it when i picked up the car.
