Hey everyone. i just got my 18x7.5 enkie GF1 installed on an 2008 se v6 and there was massive vibration. So i took it back and they installed a centering hub ring...and now the vibration is better but still present...can everyone tell me the correct hub ring for that set up???
At what speed do you feel the vibration? Get your balancing checked out again and make sure the lugs are properly torqued. I had the same issue. Went back to America's Tire 3 to 4 times, got it road balanced and that didn't work. Finally they rebalanced it again and torqued it properly (I was watched them this time) and now the vibration was gone. In fact when I had my tires rotated 2 weeks ago, the vibrations came back when I was driving 65+. A simple rebalancing and retorquing did the job.

Do you have wheel locks? The OEM wheel locks I originally had with TRD wheels gave me a vibration in the steering wheel above 65mph only on straighaways. I swapped over to Rays lugs and no more vibration issues!!!
I also have Enkei wheels, they came without hubcentrics but after a little complaining Enkei shipped some aluminum hubcentrics to me for free.

yea...hids dont work..my wheels wobble...and i think the new exhaust i got is too loud...sigh
what kind of exhaust did you get? did you keep your stock resonator on?
hey, i feel for you on having bad luck..got rear ended twice, backed up pretty badly into a parking curb block which accounts for a third accident, and spent a week straight at the rim shop because of steering wheel vibration.
i got my vibration problem fixed by having the shop replace all 4 of my tires. they stated a factory defect on some of the tires
the rims are starting to feel better...no more vibration..i'ma replaice the hub rings america's tire put on with some ones from discount tires direct that's specifically for this tire and car combo...some hopefully those will be better..i'ma try to get my wheels rebalanced for free at the same time...i have some muteki lug nuts i think they are pretty good...i have some really nice dual wall tips on a flowmaster 40 series with custom piping from the bend back...but its just too loud..the interior resonates too much with exhaust and it drones like crazy...the guy that installed for me said he'll replace my flowmasters with magnaflows for 75 bucks...so i'ma go ahead and do that and see what happens...
ps. how much does ride quality go down from switching to 18's from 17 and from the stock toyos to the ecsta spt's which are ultra high performance summer tires...the ride quality seems to be significantly worse for me...how about everyone else?
I have the Kumho Ecsta SPT also at 225/45/18. This is my first set of 18s, and so far, it's been holding up pretty good. My only complaint is that with these tires, the steering wheel tends to be all over whenever driving on uneven, bumpy road. With my stock 17s, I never felt this way before. I dunno if it's because of the lower profile, or just the tires, but I'll try a new set once the threads are gone.

yea...that's the feeling i get too...but the grip is greatly increased but when the road is uneven....the car pulls left and right and steering is all over the place....o well..i guess i'll just have to deal with it..

That sound odd, I'm also running 225/45/18s but with Proxes 4 and it rides straight on uneven roads.
