Gen5 AVN5500: Is It Plug and Play?

Im getting a good deal on a used Eclipse AVN5500 for my 05. I tried to do some searching but didnt really come up with a straight answer.

- Will it plug right in with my factory harness or will I need an aftermarket harness for it to work?

- Will the steering controls still work or is there an adapter that is needed?

- Do I need an aftermaket dash kit for it to mount properly? and if so can someone post a link of what it looks like? I saw a few on Ebay, but not sure if they are the right ones.

Thanks

depends... if you have the basic radio, no jbl or nav, then yes it will plug right in. steering controls will also work without any additional harness/adapter. you will need a kit to fill in the gap... don't buy the scocshe dash kit, it won't fit quite right. i personally find that metra has the best look and fit, its what i'm using on my AVN 6600
