5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Hey Guys,
I already had the car checked by the dealer and it is back again to check out a possible leak.
Everytime the car gets wet, when you open the doors there is water on the door sill and that surrounding area. I thought it was only one door but after I washed the car this weekend I noticed every door is the same. I was wondering if everyone else had this same problem that the inner door jam gets wet and needs to be dried.
Toyota already looked and everything was working fine, but I am having them check a second time while they are replacing my cd player that likes to keep my cd's
is it wet on the carpet/plastic..or just the painted part..the metal...if it's the painted body metal parts...it's normal...mine has that, all of my cars have....aslong as it's not the carpet or seats or anything like that wet..it's normal.
Is the water on the bottom of the doorsill? The doors have holes at the bottom to allow water to run out, there are little rubber check valves in holes.

that's what i meant! but couldn't get it worded right...my mind is in other places tonight
I notice it if I shoot water at the bottom of the door sill when washing my car after I'm done. Some on the rear right door gets in but doesnt jump the lip into carpet area. Just the plastic below the top lip on the bottom. No biggie for me. I just try not to shoot water in side angle below door edge into the groove.

X 2.....unless you drive a tank, it will be like this "ver batum"....

Alright thanks guys just wanted to make sure. My gen 4 never had this problem but I guess this design allows water in just alittle.
The water is only on the bottom of the door and the inner panel along the bottom of the door. Toyota said the weather stripping was fine and the cleared out the drains have been cleaned out.
Dunno if it applies but when I frst got my gen 6, apparently the rubber on top of the car (black strip on the roof) was bad. It allowed water to leak into the driver's sidee A pillar.
Maybe look from the top as well?

Brake lights aren't broken, I just don't brake.
--Can honestly go to a parts counter and ask for brake shoes for the front brakes.
--Likes long walks on the beach.... once it's lit by a massive bonfire.

Thanks, I will be picking up the car today so I will ask them to look at that also.
