Autodimming rearview mirror availability

I recently purchased a fully loaded 08 SE V6 with all the available options from my dealer. I compared it to the "build your camry" on Toyota's website and it was identical. However, I noticed in the specifications that the AUTO DIMMING REARVIEW MIRROR W COMPASS is an available option with the SE and is also packaged with certain packages. Was I suppose to get this option? I cant believe that a loaded SE doesn't even have autodimming lights and auto temperature! If I wanted to add this, how much would my dealer charge? Thx.

I got mine as a DYI add on. I can't remember the exact screen name, but Dave is the man and you can find him here and on ebay with good deals on the Gentex mirror with excellent instructions and support. I put mine in, in less than 10 minutes.

Thanks!

Any differences between the Toyota and Gentex? I know Gentex makes them for Toyota. Is there a Gentex Model that is EXACTLY the same as the OEM ones for a GEN 6 Camry?

My Se is loaded but I did not get the mirror. Well thats why my SLK 230 Kompressor was $36.000 in 1999 it has dimming mirrors driver side and rear view. I guess a few thousand will get you all the bells not sure about the whistles. If Toyota has it I hope it is not priced like the rear shade which is $345 bucks dammmm must be real expensive to make like two hours time involved so they make $300 profit

So I guess my SE was not loaded WTF. No after market bunk it is worthless on a trade.

Dave.57@cox.net - hit him up

Dave sorry if I posted your email address without asking! I haven't bought one from him yet but his prices are by far the best and from what it sounds like, he has one hell of a reputation around here.

I dont see any QB options available when i try to config a SE V6 using area code 11563. I only get 2 options (Options A - no navi or Options B - with navi) . I know it says its available on Toyota's brochures though....

BTW, Isnt homelink the Garage Opener buttons? I think i have those but its next to my sunroof buttons.

My Gentex mirror (same as OEM Toy) has autodim, compass, and homelink (garage door). I got mine from Dave.57@cox.net on Ebay and I recommend 110%

BTW: When I got my loaded SE V6, the auto dimming mirror wasn't available as factory or port installed. I think that changed about a month after I got my car.
