US part in Japanese Camry

My headlights are made in the US, but the car is made in Japan. I bought the car used, so I don't have the full history. My question is... are these original lights? Would a Japan made Camry have US parts?

The parts should be the same for both US and Japan built Camry's, although I'm not entirely sure.

makes sense to me that common parts are manufactured only in one location if capacity allows for it ....very normal

Yes, Japan and USA have the same part number for the headlights, looks like a made in USA part number. Also in some cases Japanese parts change up to USA parts, so if the headlights were replaced (even by Toyota, even for warranty), they would have been replaced with USA counterparts.

That being said, I think the Japanese-made Gen-5's do have USA-made headlights from the factory.

Actually, There are different headlight housings. I have had sets of 07 Camry headlights where one lamp didnt have extra molding/mounts for HID ballasts on the bottom of the light, but the other one did...... I am assuming this was from a Japan built Camry. They may have suppliers there, as well as from the USA. And since the Japanese Camrys have an HID option, This makes sense.

Gen-6 headlights have different part numbers (Japan-USA made).

Quite a number of parts are specific to Build Country.

Yeah, Gen 6 do, which is 07-08, and not what I was talking about, nor the original poster.
