5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I have a 2007 Camry SE V6.
I am trying to find out what is a good brake set and rotors for this car. I have found some auto parts websites but when I put the info of my car it shows me for rotors Centric and EBC. As for the brake pads it only shows me Akebono.
I was wondering if anyone would have any experience with these manufactures. I also went to 3 different local auto shops and what they were showing me is called Raybesto for rotors and brake pads. Some people told me to stay away from Raybesto dew to the brake dust and to try hawk brakes. But I tried searching for hawk brakes on the web and was not able to find any that will work with a 07 Camry se v6.
Any help as to what brand and the cheapest place I can get it will be most useful. Thanks in advance.
Looking at upgrading the brakes in my SE V6, but so far have only found mediocre pads, etc. Do any of the top brake companies put something out there with slotted/drilled rotors, etc. for our car?

Hey trav i found a good rep in the tyota parts department. He would sell all the parts online or you can place it over the phone. the costs are so low that I recomended him to all my friends.
His name is Bob and his number is 1800-692-6396 this is there website. Its a toyota dealership part department.
Tell him Bob from New York refered you to him. if he needs a refresher tell him the guiy that bought the 4 rotors and 4 sets of disc breaks for his toyota camry 07. He is a real nice guy very friendly.

They work fine for everyday use (around town, light travel). I want something that can stand heavier (and more) braking. I'm looking to start taking it to the track. Not to mention, I like the looks of the big brake kits.

The factory pads and rotors work great.

Not really looking for OEM brakes, the ones I have work ok for everyday use, looking for aftermarket upgrades; unless TRD has Camry stuff out for brakes!

I've got my aftermarket brake rotors on online store. This auto part on my Toyota has been tried and tested for almost 7 months, check it out yourself. This is not an OEM yet quality-wise, it is a good one.
If you find out where to get good aftermarket rotors and pads - I like to know as well. I need to change the pads on my RX8 and want to change rotors at the same time (they need to be rotated and reworked as well according to the shop). The old once are also not pretty looking (rust) through the aftermarket wheels. If that works, I would consider to do the same on the Camry - starting to rust as well already. Are zinc-plated, drilled/slotted aftermarket rotors good enough and prevent rust? (Their is a shop on e-bay V12-brake offering a complete rotor set for $229 ...?)
Hey Rotora makes a 4-piston kit with a 13"rotor for the Gen 6 I am getting a set when my lease is up and I buy my car the OEM brakes stop good but they are on the soft side I do not like the vibration when they get a little hot the brakes on the Camry were made for little old lady's in there XLE's.Not guys who like to drive there cars hard.
I purchased drilled/ slotted rotors from V12, as well as the posiquiet pads. Pretty satisfied so far. The braking is good, but the only thing is I get a soft clicking at low speeds. I am guessing from the slots. But overall good price, no squealing, and stops good.

If it's clicking without you touching the break, wouldn't that mean it's touching? So the break is breaking all the time.

Is V12 the eBay seller? Are those posiquiets ceramic?
