Canada 2005 Camry Check Engine

Hey, my Check Engine light has come on and stays ON.
I have checked the oil and tranny fluids and instrument temp is OK.
Do I just take it to the dealer or is there some other thing to do?
What could be causing the Check Engine light to come on anyhow?

Thanks........................... Folken

It could be anything. Warranty coverage will only apply if you're within time and mileage of what's causing the light to come on. If you left your fuel cap loose and caused an EVAP system code it wouldn't be a vehicle defect, thus warranty coverage would not apply even if you within the warranty period.

The only way to find out what the problem is, would be to retrieve the code that's set and perform diagnostic procedures related to that specific code.

Did you put gas recently? If so , try taking off your gas cap and put it back on till you go to the first click then you must drive a few miles then it should diappear. Otherwise you have to find the ecm code.

Oxygen Sensor

It might be your Oxygen Sensor. Your dealer can tell you by checking the code. I have the same problem and it turned out to be the faulty Oxygen Sensor.
