Remote Start/Auto Headlight problem

Hi everyone I have a 2005 Camry XLE V6 with the Scytek Astra 1000RS Remote Start. The problem I've been having is the auto headlights are not shutting off all the time when the door is opened and closed after the key has been taken out of the ignition. According to the owners manual they should shut off before 30 seconds. Now the reason I mentioned the remote start was because I was using the factory remote to shut off the lights by hitting the lock button twice so Im not sure if the remote start is causing something to act up or if the problem was there the whole time. According the the wiring schematic of the remote start the only wires that would cause any activity from the lights are a white wire that ties into the parking lamps that flash the lights when locking/unlocking and when the car is remote started, other than that most wire hook up's are for the ignition. Has anyone had problems with there headlights not shutting off on there own from time to time? Thanks, Chuck

Follow up

OK just a follow up in hopes that in can help someone on here. As stated before I have an 05 Camry XLE and this problem only happens to the XLE because of the auto headlights. For any one with an alarm or remote start the parking light output must be set to positive and not negative trigger. Most aftermarket remote starts and alarms you can change between the two. I personally have the Scytek Astra 1000RS and after weeks of research found the problem to be the polarity of the parking light output. Hope this helps. Chuck

Thanks chuck for the update. I was thinking of getting a remote start too. But don't like the idea leaving my key in the box. I'm still deciding for over 2 years.

I was the same way

I felt the same way you did. After talking to the installer we use here in Chicago I cahnged my mind and did it. Using your valet key in the bypass module does not affect you car security in any way, it strictly uses the code from the key only during the remote start therfore not affecting the security. Now that I did the my Acura MDX back in August I just had one put on my Camry and let me tell you with the cold ass days we had here in Chicago,,,, Well worth it.
