Canada 2007 Camry LE window problem

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum, dont be hating

so I got a 07 Camry LE last year and it's been a fantastic ride so far.

However this winter, I'm from Canada btw, I noticed that the windows can get stuck VERY easily. I couldn't open any of the windows to swipe the card to enter the garage at work. I talked to quite a few people at work, and those who park their cars outside over night, said they had no problem with opening their windows.

So finally after 5 days, I poured a jug of hot water on all four windows to melt away whatever was between the rubber and the glass. Still refused to open, it was struggling, but just not enough.

Anyone else having similar problems in the cold country?
or do I have to use force to get in between the seal and glass every time it drops below -10 degrees....

any comments would help, lol.

Mine does the same thing. Probably anywhere around 15-20 degrees F and below. Usually once the car is good and warm inside theyll thaw out but other than that I havent tried anything else.

I wouldnt use water becasue, though it might be a temporary fix it just means more ice holding the windows shut next time you try it.

A heated garage would probably be a good fix but, many people, like myself dont really have that luxury at all times.

Frozen to the window seals is not exactly "sticking"!!!!!!!!!!!

even in the US.

If possible, you might try greasing the rubber seals and tracks to prevent ice from forming. The tracks should already be greased from the factory though.

umm...

i have a space heater in the car on a timer for the morning thou, but i guess my drive to work isn't long enough for the whole car to get warm. (15 minutes)

ohh well, i guess i'll just have to live with it when it gets this cold...

It guess it could, but I don't know if hot water is hot enough... I've seen someone crack a 1/2" thick glass plate messing around with a 900 deg F hot air jet.

well i've done it before on other cars and it was fine, it wasn't boiling hot. just warm enough so that it melts the ice.
i thought auto glass is tempered, so its okay to do that to a certain extend.

but yeah, its probably a bad idea since the water would just freeze over after a few minutes, but i just wanted to try it out and see if it was just ice around the seal, or an "internal freeze up".
