Gen5 9005 bulbs turned "brown"

A couple of months after buying my Gen 5.5, i noticed that the high beam bulbs (9005) turned brown. there was a cloudy, brown film on the inside of each bulb, which can't be wiped off, obvsiouly.

so i replaced them with a pair of Sylvania Xtravisions. after 2-3 months, they turned brown too!!! what gives?

i use the daytime running lights when i drive, but that shuldn't be a problem, or is it? the bulbs still work, but they jus have this ugly film inside them.

did anyone else have the same problem?

That is a result of you using your DRL. It's normal.

touringcamry is 100% correct, I had the same issue with my old '05 Camry as well.

If you feel comfortable, replace with another bulb and just drive with your DRL turned off and you wont get that problem anymore. It's the same reason I had the dealership disable my DRL on my Lexus.
