Gen6 My HID bulb is burning!

Hi guys, i was just playing around with my HID (denso)kit my uncle gave me. i was bored so i decided to play around with it. i removed my headlight (gen6) and placed my hid bulb (ds2 bulb) and connected it with the ballast and threw it right on a 14.4v cordless drill battery, and then i noticed that the bulb started to have a burnt smell but the light was still working. now my bulb is a h7, so its completely different to you fellas in the US, and the output of the light is soo strong so i dont think ill be doing a retofit. what is causing the burn of the bulb and is this a safe procedure?

maybe you accidentally touched the bulb, leaving oil residue from your skin onto the bulb, causing the d2s to burn the oil on the bulb when lit?

So not fair, you can use a H7 D2S adapter ring.

9 times out of 10 its just the dust burning off the bulb.
I am guessing you didnt wipe the bulb with rubbing alcohol and let it dry before you tested it?

Also the focal points will not line up correctly if you try putting in a D2S bulbs inside you OEM lamps, unless you have retrofitted lamps with OEM HID projectors, but if the D2S bulbs has the H7 adapter... remove that.
