Unhappy AutoMate alarm problem, need help...

Hi guys,

I just installed an AutoMate alarm for my gen 6 Camry LE from the dealer. Now, the problem is that every time I press the panic button on my factory transmitter (when the system is armed), it goes out of control.

The horn pulse is messed up, instead of like this:
honk...honk...honk...honk...honk

Now:
honkhonk...hoooooooonkkkkk.honk

Something like that, sometimes when it's honking it doesn't want to stop. But that happened only when the system is armed. Is that normal? Anybody experience this?

The manual doesn't say anything about this.

Thanks,

Fil

Are you sure it's not designed to be that way? Is there any pattern to the honking? You should give the dealer a call and ask them if it's normal - if not, just bring it back and I'm sure they'll be able to fix it.

Gen6

Read your Automate manual, ask the question on their website, ask your installing dealer.

Yes, the normal pattern is like this: honk...honk...honk...honk...honk. (When the system is disarmed).

But when it's armed it sounds like the Factory and the AutoMate Alarm triggered at the same time, it's like they both are racing to honk, I don't know how to say it, but you get the idea right?

Like I said before, the pattern changed to something like this: "Short" honk... long honk, very long, very short, long honk. It's just going wild.

The manual doesn't say anything about this.

Dealer said that the guy that istalled the alarm doesn't work there, he is mobile (goes from one dealer to another).
