I can go 500 miles with 1gal of gas..... given go down hill only and turn on engine to charge battery so I can listen to music while doing this 500 miles.
Anyway, my Camry has 17gal tank and I'm sure it can do 500miles/tank if I don't mine risking it die in the middle of the road due to out of gas.

I did 490 miles on one tank (with the V6) and I put in 17.5 gallons at the next fill-up. That came out to 28 MPG. But that was driving from Portland, OR to San Francisco. Going over the pass with 3 adults and AC on all the time. Not bad, i think.

...for Nissan Altima to get 600 miles to the tank of gas (as they advertise on TV).
I'm assuming big ass gas tank
I could get 420 that's it
If the Altima has the same size gas tank as the Camry (18.5 Gallons), then that would be 32.43MPG if they ran it so the tank was completely empty. Sure it's possible as others have said if you do ~55MPH on a straight highway with very little to no hills with cruise control on, however you can achieve that in the Camry as well. I was able to hit around 36MPG once doing around 50MPH with a few downhill grades, and being very easy on the gas pedal.
