Wife banged up the 07 Camry - any idea how much this should cost?

Hi all,

Unfortunately last night my wife backed into a friend's car. She says it was dark out and she couldn't see

The damage doesn't look that bad - just the bumper popped out on the side and about a silver dollar sized nice dent in the upper trunk panel. We figured if the estimates were low enough for both cars, we would just pay it out of our pocket, rather than risk our insurance going up. However, the first estimate we got (from a local Toyota dealer) came in at almost $900!

We're getting a few more estimates this weekend, but I wanted to get some opinions on what you all thought damage like this should go for. I had originally thought maybe $400 or so, but the last wreck I was in was over 10 years ago, so maybe I'm out of touch....

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Jason

Don't go to the Toyota dealer for a body repair quote! Find another reputable place locally and get a quote there. The dealer is practically always higher for EVERYTHING than everybody else.

JSM1284 worked in a body shop so maybe he can give a little insight if he chimes in.

Around $600-$800 should do the trick.
