cresta is the same as the USDM Toyota Cressida. they share the same platform with a Chaser, and Mark II before. they were basically 4door sedans, rwd, big displacement and either had the 1/2jz, or a similar engine like the 7MGE and its variants. think of it as a 4 door version of the supra (the skylines had both 2 and four doors variants.)
it is hard to find parts for it unless you are in japan (aftermarket parts), but there are so many compatible parts that can be taken from the chaser and markII.

before the lexus division was created and the flagship of toyota, then known as the Celsior (LS400 or LS430), the Cresta and Crown were the flagships. 4 door luxury sedans.

some variants had direct fuel injection sporting around 300hp stock.
last model was i believe the mx83 or the 89-92 model. was killed off because the celsior and aristo came into the lineup of toyota.

importing would depend where you are and you DoT laws for importing a car from japan.

these things drift very well btw.

they also normally came in a 3.0L I6 engine, while in some asian countries, they had a 2.4L 4cyl carburated engine. these things have a ton of torque and are very friendly to a 1/2jz engine swap.

hope that helps

only downside to it...it's heavy as a boat but built like a tank

i used to own one when i inherited my dad's old one when i was still living in asia.

From what I remember, it's not that hard to bring one over if you're in the military.

There's one word that pops up in my head when I see "Cresta" GTO....LoL It shouldn't be too hard for your brother to import one since he's in the military. There's couple of jarheads in the states that have imported various JDM cars, like the Silvia S15, Laurels, Soarers, and GT-Rs.
