Gen6 Dynamat

Anyone outfit their car with Dynamat yet??

I will be getting my system installed soon, and I was just curious if anyone has done this yet...if there is even a difference at all;

dynamat vs. no dynamat.

What do you guys think? or

I had a ton of dynamat in my 1993 accord. difference was tremendous. there are also other cheaper alternatives to dynamat. www.partexpress.com sells some dampening sheets at a fraction of what dynamat would cost per sq. foot. also look into Raamat.

To me, Dynamat is extremely vital if you want to install a sound system, especially one with strong subs. For my gen4.5 it dampened nearly 90% of the vibration and rattling I had before. You get better SPL and tighter bass. Trust me, you don't want to spend thousands of dollars on a great sound system only to turn up the volume and hearing nothing but annoying rattling sounds. I put Dynamat Extreme on my trunk lid, trunk floor and wall, rear deck, and a little bit in the front doors. The trunk is especially important since the sub is back there and that's where most of the rattling comes from. Oh yea, remember to put it in back of your license plate too since that's the first thing that rattles. I bought the bulk kit and it included 9 sheets of Dynamat. I think it's the best kit for the price, rather than buying the door kit and trunk kit separately. If you don't want to use Dynamat then there's also Hushmat, Fatmat, Scosche Accumat, and Stinger Roadkill. I used Dynamat because they are the original sound dampening material and I think they are the best, just my opinion.

Dynamat will do for the car audio system what every car manufacturer wish it could afford to do. That is stop music vibration from being absorbed by the car. If properly place in strategic locations, your bass will be less absorbed and then actually attempt to come out of the car with every beat. For me it made a world of difference. Night and day. No more car rattle and my trunk became a very tight cabinet that absorbed very little.

Now... looking back, I'm older now and wouldn't do it again. It's just overkill and wasted quite a bit of money and extra time. Wasted in the sense that I should have really been paying down my credit cards, hehe. But if your young and have the extra $$$$... then go for it.

Buy Rammat, it's cheaper as far as price goes, and it's good quality.

Wow, thanks for all the info guys.

I'm glad I didn't just jump right into a Dynamat purchase when there are other alternatives out there.

I heard Dynamat made a difference, but I never met anyone who had this or anyone who has had experience with it. I've always wanted to get some form of sound dampener.....now I think I just might.

I was hoping to have no rattling with just one sub, but if I am going to do it, I need to do it right.

No rattles for this Cam.

Hopefully...

Make sure you guys cover the target areas or areas where the most resonance/vibration occurs. I usually target the areas under the trunk lid, behind the license plate, and underneath the rear deck where the rear 6x9's are.
