Gen6 Need advice on upsizing wheels

I have a stock se v6 magnetic gray, I'm planning on getting 18" wheels. What offset would work best with this size? I don't want the wheels to stick out too much. I'm kinda worried about the front wheels sticking out too much, causing splashes on the car. I've had my eye on the OZ Canyons (below), and they seem to look nice on the Tire Rack website. They are 18x8 and 40mm offset. Tires will be 225/45-18. My car will not be lowered.
I'm trying to go for a sportier look. Thanks.

It will fit perfectly. My GS rims is 18x8 +45 offset. So your rims will be 5mm push out more than my setup. I wish my GS rims offset were +38 or +40 because that would be perfect.
Go for it.

40 is a good offset for that, then if you want to lower it eventually you still can

+2. I have 18x8 with +40mm all around offset (and lowered). Take a look and see if you like it and suits your needs. I did not take a picture where you can see how the wheels line up with the body panels but basically the wheels are flush on top and just 1/2 inch (or less) out on the lower side. My current tire setup are 225/45 Winter Dunlop M3's...therefore the aggressive tread pattern around the "corner" of the tires on the pic's.

Any reason why you don't want to lower it? It will help with the 'sporty' look you're going for.
