I have a very "common" problem of dashboard rattle sound in my 07 V6 camry. I know a TSB NV008-07 is out there to address the problem but Just wondering someone in Toronto or Mississauga got it fixed by applying the TSB? I appreciate if someone can recommend, or otherwise, a good dealership in the area for this work. I don’t want a trainee tech to repair the dash board of my car and open up a new series of problems. Thanks
I too have an 07 Camry SE-V6 and my dash sung like a canary when I got it - especially in cold weather. I initially brought mine to Brimell Toyota in Scarborough and they didn't resolve the problem. They had it for an hour and inserted some foam which did nothing.
I then took it to Whitby Toyota and they had it for half a day to install the 'noise kit'. It helped a great deal but it's still not perfect, again especially in cold weather. In the summer it's as quiet as a mouse.
As long as they do the full noise kit and not a half ass job, I think any dealer will do a decent job - just don't expect miracles. I have come to realize as much as I love the car, it's not a Lexus and unfortunately you may have to come to that realization too
My Car Has the worst rattles too. Last time I was at the dealer, they tried to tell me they had no idea what I was talking about, And that I should come back to take a drive with a mechanic so he can hear the noise since they have never every heard of it!!!
As if TOYOTA is not aware of the dashboard rattle noises in the 07 SE....just makes me more frustrated...
the canadian dealer's mechanic told me that TSB is an american thing....to which I replied...have you not heard they are made in the US???
Sounds like your dealers are giving you the runaround. There is a TSB in Canada for the dash noise kit, as it was referenced on my invoice when the service was performed.
I'll try and pull my receipt this evening and post it - hopefully that will help you guys get yours resolved.
Had the TSB done at Brimell in Scarborough. Didn't rush them, left for 24hrs.
They did a clean job, but minor noise still exists behind guages near left speaker when cold and driving over continuous rough road. As anyone experienced unusual yellow fluid dropping in snow near exhaust CAT or AC drain hose? Brimell stumped as Camry coolent is PINK and my washer fluid is blue! Crappy FM reception too, stereo (Fujitsu) has been replaced twice as has antenna amp. Brimell people are good though. Woodbine (idiots) & Ken Shaw (asses).
Just looked at my invoice from the Canadian dealer - it doesn't actually reference a TSB. The invoice has an "FP Number" of 08231-00801-WA with a description of "Noise Kit". The 'Correction' states "R&R Dash to insulate".
As TN member Borish says, mine too still does the exact same thing - namely, there is a rattling type noise behind the gauges to over by the left speaker which acts up when it's either cold (disappears in warmer weather or once the heater warms the cabin) or when I'm on a rough surfaced road. Very strange. Would love to know if anyone was successful in getting rid of this noise as mine is precisely as Borish describes.
I had mine done last Thursday. It's quite as a mouse now. On the ticket they reference the TSB and two noise kits: wind noise kit and noise kit. Mine was done at Maita Toyota of Sacramento (ask for Green Team). They're a great dealership who I've been with for approx 19 yrs.

its not something to really worry about. I wouldn't really take it to the dealer because from experience, they make things worse by separating the interior panels and trying to put it back together. The rattle is mainly from the cold/warm weather when pieces expand and contract, and its nothing serious. I personally would just leave it alone....
Although I agree that sometimes things can get worse not better when the dealer takes things apart and then pieces them back together, the noise my dash was making would drown out the radio and be distracting during a conversation. To me that was a flaw that needed to be addressed. Besides, unless the dealer inserted a flaming bag of dog poop to give the noise a bad smell - they couldn't possibly have made the problem worse.
I agree, only a bag of poop would be worst than the poopy rattles I have in my dashboard. I am taking her in today for a ride with the mechanic so he can see what I am talking about! (since they have NOT ever heard of this rattle issue!), and my luck it's only -1 out there...
Has anyone on here got a pdf of the US rattle TSB? My '08 has been rattling like hell all winter long. I know the TSB number is TSB NV008-07, but I want something to walk in with to make them fix it. The dealership claimed they never heard of that problem and of course, could not duplicate it on my car, naturally. Toyotas shouldn't sound like this, especially a brand new one!

I dropped my car off the night before. That way it sat all night and got good and cold. They tried immediatley in the morning and the dash made all kinds of noise. They applied the TSB and no more rattles. It's been a couple of weeks now and everything is still silent.
