Gen6 Has anybody seen this before?

I was just driving to work on a cold morning when this came up:

Has anybody dealt with this issue before? These warning lights stay on every time I start my car, and they never go away. I'm thinking about taking it to the dealership to get it serviced. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Dang, no bro, never seen those warning lights before. Did you check your manual?

Wish you luck with that!

Disconnecting the battery to reset the check engine lights is how I used to get my old beater cars to pass inspection every year.

If there is a true problem, the lights will come back on after about 20 minutes of driving.

The light is on for a reason...........I'd take it to the dealer.

Just my two nickles. Good luck.

I agree with ebumdude, take it to the dealer ASAP!
Warning lights come on for a reason. Don't take chances bro!
I used to disconnect my battery on my BMW to make warning light vanish, LOL!

Big mistake! The car got mad at me and started breaking down!

Peace,

Shane

That's and interesting combo...

Vehicle Skid Control Light

Traction Control Light

Check Engine Light

The first two can come on simply due to wet roads, but if they are staying on with the CEL as a constant, I would go straight to the dealer without passing go and without collecting $200.

If the TCS and VSC lights stay on, it probably means the electronics failed the self check that is run every time you start the engine. Could be a fluke so and disconnecting the battery for 30 min as has been suggested is a good idea. If they come back on, then you definitely have a problem which only the dealer can diagnose.

DO NOT disconnect the battery. If you have an intermittent problem the code will be erased which will make diagnosis much harder. The MIL doesn't come on for no reason at all.

The VSC and Trac lights will come on with the MIL. That's normal.

As stated above, bring it to the dealer if it's under warranty.

In some cases a componant/system has to fail a self test a certain number of times before the MIL comes on and a code is set. When it passes a certain number of consecutive tests the MIL will turn off in some cases also. In most cases a history code will be stored, but without the fault occuring it's nearly impossible to verify the cause.

Damn! I already disconnected the battery and connected it back again. Now all warning lights are gone. I test-drove it around the block to see if they came back on, but they never did. Hopefully everything is ok for now. Wish me luck guys!

By clearing the codes you just made it so that the problem is impossible to track.

Not having the codes that were already stored will also make it impossible to compare them to any codes that come up in the future.
