2007 Camry Problems

I had...yes had a 2007 Camry LE. The car was plagued by quality issues, the worst of which was vibration, and very poor transmission operation...yes I had the TSB performed. I was very disappointed with this car and Toyota in general, as they couldn't / wouldn't correct the issues. I have since replaced it with an 08 Nissan Altima which I absolutely love. Please don't make the same mistake I did. Don't buy the new Camry. You just might regret it.

I am sorry to hear that you had such troubled car. Good luck with your Altima.

But your post is pretty pointless here as this TN forum is mainly used by Toyota enthusiast and who already have a Camry. I doubt any of us will take your word and advice our friends not to buy a Camry or sell it right away because of it ... so, wrong audience pal.

Thank you very much Jyoung. Because of your awesome post I am driving to my Lexus dealer to trade in my Camry for a much better car....a Lexus GS.
Oh I'm sorry, I misunderstood your post. You meant a Nissan Altima.

Sorry to bust on you dude, no offense. But there are about the same number of threads on here talking about vibrations as there are posts made by you.

To the OP, sorry for your luck. Like Tobeit said, wrong crowd. Everyone here already has a new Camry. Yeah, some cars have their tweeks about em'...keep in mind, these aren't Lexus's or Hummers we are driving.

They are Camry's. Most of the sh*t that is wrong with your Camry, or anyone's Camry for that matter, can be fixed if it is a LEGIT issue and you know what you are talking about when you "go back" to the dealer for repairs.

I'm glad you got rid of your Camry. That means there is ONE less Camry on the roads drivin' by a dingle berry that thinks that the Camry is a P.O.S.

Even if your Camry did have legit problems.....look at it like this:

Out of all the hundreds of thousands of Camry's that are made and sold, there are bound to be a few out there that doesn't quite meet the standards by the consumer.

In that case, you chose to get rid of the Camry and get an Altima....

Congratulations.

Sorry you had problems with your Camry but you did what you had to do. I have had many cars over the years going back to a '65 Beetle, including a 2007 Camry, and still have a 1995 Altima. The Camry is doing fine. The Altima has had oil leaks, visers falling off, paint crapped out, broken bits here and there over the years and guess what - that sucker still goes every day wherever and whenever we want, and quickly. I also have a '92 Ranger with A/C still working, but had another Ford in the 80's and A/C was problematic. Cars are funny animals, built, driven, and maintained by people, and just because you had a lemon Camry does not mean they all are. Even MB or BMW owners have gripes and recalls. Hope your new Altima does well for you, but I really like my smooth-as-silk Camry, thank you.

Sorry, folks, but I think the OP is either a troll or essentially "as clueless about the Internet as he is about automobiles."

He's been in here before -- mentioned that a Toyota rep stated that any "vibration" was within specification. He's been in Edmunds, too, with essentially a word-for-word repeat of what he's written here. "Or vice versa."

He never describes the vibration in any detail at all. "When does it happen -- at high speeds on the freeways? During slow-speed turns?" And so on. Not one single word.

He never replies to the many replies he has received -- he just pops in to dump a "Camry bad" post.

So, I sure can't put much stock into this guy's "problem." If he's actually genuine, then I expect he might well be the kind of "customer" that service people roll their eyes over -- you know, the kind of guy who goes, "I've taken my car in three times for rattles -- can I get a new car under my state's Lemon Law?" And other such nonsense.

Well, let me tell you -- I sure don't head to a Nissan dealer looking for "quality." I truly expect that this guy will show up on some Altima forum some day with some other vague story about why people ought to avoid that car, too.

So, "I call this guy's bluff." If that bugs him, well, I challenge him to describe his "problem" in more detail. That's what it would take me to believe him.

Finally, for ANYONE whining about "vibration" problems, I just have one painfully obvious question: "Why don't you take it to a competent tire shop, and see what THEY have to say about it?" I would think that a "second opinion" like that would be valuable thing to get, even if it cost you a few bucks....

I know what you mean. If I could swap payments for a different brand, I would too. And if I hadn't gotten laid off last year, I would have a different car. This Camry is the 1st Toyota I've ever owned and I hate it because of quality control issues.

I've had flashed, dash taken apart multiple times, A column covers that keep sliding off, hwy speed wondering, and the list goes on and on.

In the future, I won't purchase a 1st year model and if I look at a Toyota, it better have raving reviews for more then a year!!

If there wasn't a problem though as you suggest, why would the dealer waste three sets of tires, a set of alloy rims, and countless man hours on my vehicle. I will tell you why, because there was a problem. I'm sure though that while cross referencing my activities on Edmunds you noticed this. By the way, I also own a 93 Tercel a great little car. It has plenty of issues including some "vibration", but it is 15 years old. I just didn't expect so many with an 07 Camry

You still don't describe the nature of your vibration at all, though.

All I can tell you is that if you come into a forum like this, post messages like you did, with virtually no detail whatsoever about your problem and then never reply to the questions your postings generate, you'll get some pretty doubtful impressions about your problem, such as mine. People here will be glad to try to help you, but, again, if you just mention "vibrations" without any further detail, it's virtually meaningless.
