Just a stock Barcelona Red SE pic....

OK, so I've finally had a chance to hand-wash and wax the new SE V6, so here's a look at the results:

I'm starting to get used to the red....

Wow...seeing is believing.

The Barcelona red IS a pretty sexy color. First time I've ever seen one.

You are good with your camera to bring out that RED. I like it.
Looking good. Let the modding begin (again!)

Yep -- somewhere along the line, I've figured out how to get some decent results out of a camera.

I've got a 21-inch widescreen monitor, and, like I usually do, I've saved this in a very uncompressed 1580 x 1050 version -- that looks a lot better than this 'puny' version here.

I'm not much into modding, though -- just into keeping it squeaky clean, and taking some good pictures every now and then!

gorgeous!

personally, i think salsa red pearl > barcelona red for the fact that the salsa red is a darker red but when the sun hits it, it stands out.. the barcelona red is bright to begin with and is a bit too much for me in the sun.. here in night pics it looks great

Well, that's kind of what I initially thought -- a little wish that it would have been a "deeper, darker" red. But, I've been paying a lot more attention to "red cars" lately, and I've found that I prefer the Barcelona Red to just about any other shade -- especially to the "darker" reds. In the end, it just seems like "darker red" tends to look like "dirty red" -- especially if the car is actually a little bit dirty. At the least, you can turn that around and say that the darker reds can look really extra-bad if they're dirty.

So, again, I'm plenty happy with the Barcelona red. And here's another shot for everyone:

It looks great. I love the factory ground effects and rear spoiler.

Yep, and I'm an old guy who doesn't tend to like the rice-boy stuff -- the SE 'kit' is nice and understated. Perfect.

By the way, the "shine" is courtesy of Turtle Wax Ice. Yeah, I know, I cringed when I wrote that, but I tried it a while back, and liked it. Oh, I've tried plenty of spendy stuff over the years, but I sure like how this stuff works, and how it's just got no "residue" at all. For instance, I just used it all over the front end -- over the grille, the license plate and frame (which I then painstakingly photoshopped out), and everything else. Heck, I even used it on the wheels, and I also used it on all of the "interior" metal -- the insides of the doors, the door sills, the inside of the trunk, and the inside of the engine compartment.

Anyway, I call the stuff "Like Rain-X for the whole car." Seems to work just fine, and I thought it sure brought out the metalflake in the paint. "Works for me."

Exactly. I agree with you completely (I'm not sure about the old guy stuff though).
