5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
For those of you that are in a department such as a volunteer fire department and use the Camry as your POV, I thought you may be interested in some photos of how I installed two lights and siren in my car.
I went for a basic look at a low cost (no $500+ lights), I have two mini phantoms and a mid-ranged siren and speaker. Now for the photos!
It's a bit hard to see the lights from the outside with the rain, but I prefer to have the "undercover" approach.
I have the wire on the rear light in between the headliner and the roof, and it follows down all the way to the power source, so it's completely hidden.
I was lucky enough to have already went through finding a hole for the siren when I installed my amp, so I was able to feed the new wires via the power cable from the amp. Not the absolute cleanest option, but I'm fine with it
Great...now I have to look out for Camrys too and not just Chargers and Crown Vics anymore.
It looks pretty clean.
The wires are a little spaghetti like in the engine bay, but hey you did a pretty good job none the less. I like the control panel for easy access too.
My father might be doing something simular in his truck. He works as a volunteer for fire and law enforcement. He used to be in law enforcement full time a while ago.

Ya the engine bay is a mess, but actually only two wires are for my entire light/siren system. The rest are from the fog lights and HID kit, all stuffed in that area. I'll do some zip tie work and make it look a bit better
I'd really put those wires in a protective loom to prevent chaffing and shorts.
I know I really need to do something about them, luckily it doesn't get wet for the most part, but i'll look into something for those.

And is some one shoveling snow in the background?
They are alright during the day, it gets me noticed but isn't all that bright. At night however it stands out a lot, which is why I rely on the siren as well to get people's attention. I'm most likely going to get some grille lights and/or strobe bulbs for the headlights and taillights.
And yes my dad is shoveling ice out of the garage, lol
