Here's a REAL concern...New struts needed on 07 Camry LE with 10K Miles
I was experiencing some slight noises from the right rear strut and had the mechanic, that was doing my 10K mile oil change, check the struts.
BOTH rear struts BLOWN, and the front struts LEAKING, at only 10K MILES!!!!!
Toyota....I have a problem, that YOU need to FIX!
My mechanic tells me that Toyota has had problems in the past with struts and the OEM is YBK. He said that once they are replaced, I should be good for 50K; the amount of mileage they should last. I new that Toyota has had issues in the past with bushings, but never struts.
I think I did right, by purchasing the extended warranty for $800.
Your car should have still been under the original 36K mile warranty. I've noticed a few weird sounds with some part of the suspension, but never brought it in to have it looked at.

Actually, Toyota has very little problems with their struts. They also last MUCH longer than 50,000 miles on average.

Actually, it's "knew", not "new".

+1, I've never seen it also.
When I went to a local suspension shop about two weeks ago to install the TRD springs on my Camry, they told me my rear struts were blown (Odometer = 27,000 miles). Luckily one of the guys at the shop knew someone from the Toyota dealer and had them warranty it for me.
And I'm at 90,000mi on original struts, AND I've been lowered on Tein S. Techs for 30,000mi, and my struts aren't blown. In fact, they're doing just fine. I think you need a new mechanic.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.
Struts are not on the list of excluded items on my Toyota Platinum coverage, so they would be covered.
Yep, I'm wrong on that one. I had a brain fart (long day, very little sleep). Struts are covered, shocks are not.
Edit: Maybe I should have handled that better. It seems that if someone corrects you, you should deny it and ghey a thread up for about two pages while you call the person who corrected you at least one of the following: a$$hole, douche bag, d!ck, jerk, idiot, etc...

Hmmmm. Got a question for any "blown struts" people:
So, how do you go over speed bumps? Driveway entrances? Railroad tracks? Potholes?
"Like they're not even there?" "Fly right over them?"
Or, do you "crawl over them" like I do? I mean, I really do virtually STOP, and crawl over speed bumps as gently as possible. Same with driveway entrances. I slow down as much as I possibly can for railroad tracks, though of course you're often in traffic when you hit them, but I STILL slow down substantially, every time. And I suppose there are times when I look like a drunk driver, but I'm just avoiding every pothole that I possibly can.
I just wonder if "bashing around" might have a whole lot to do with aggravated strut wear. I sure don't drive my car like it's the General Lee from the Dukes of Hazzard!
