5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
So after a long phone call with TireRack today I decide to ask you guys about rims.
Why does Tirerack insist that 20's cant fit on our car, I ask him and he said everywheel and tire combo they tested didn't fit. He said it isnt possible, due to hub and bore I think. Not really sure what he was talking about.
I'm trying to pick out my rims, I would love to go threw them since they have my wheels on sale but they wont offer it if I am buying them for the camry.
I plan on purchasing them as for a 08 Accord Sedan same bolt pattern.
My question is, is there a problem with these wheels, I belive they will fit, unless hes talking about them not being hub centric or something.
Anyways here are the wheel specs and Sorry for another Rim thread
I've gone all the way up to 120MPH on a closed course, and it was perfect. No vibrations; nothing.
Do you think I will have a problem without the hub centric rings?
I think that is going to be the only problem unless the rings they send for the accord will fit
I was actually riding around without the rings at first, and had vibrations around 55MPH. Took it to Toyota and they put on hub centric rings free of charge. No more vibration.
I have no idea if the accord shares the same size as our camry.

why dont you try to get them for a lexus.. then the hub will be the same and the offsets should be close

Thanks man, just wanted some input before I spent over 2 grand on something that wont fit lol.
im 100% sure 20x7.5 will definitely fit, but my suggestion is to get 225/35/20 tires to minimize the chances of rubbing, i know a few guys that have 22s on their camrys with minor modifications, so 20x7.5 wont be a problem
i guess I will play around with there wheel configure with a Lexus.
Any idea which lexus has the same hub size as the gen 6?
gs.. but i tried it and it didnt show the dropstars wheels

Yea same here, Well as long as you guys dont see a problem I think I will pick these up and see what happens. It just suxs cause every other site online or local wants 500+ for these rims while tirerack has a sale for 320 or so
To the original question aka Tirerack not offering 20's. Tirerack has a policy that they guaranty fit, reliability, performance/handling and no issues with factory warranty etc. The correct 20's will fit - no doubt - but Tirerack probably does not want to take a chance. To stay within the OEM sizing for 20's you got to get very low profile 20's tires...maybe that is just what tirerack can not and will not guaranty re performance and ride quality. It puzzled me too, but tirerack is just a bit more conservative on what they recommend and put their full guaranty behind. Their service and level of warranty are very, very good!
Thanks for all your help guys, are there any other reputable rim/tire online companies to take a look at.
Ive tried wheelsnext, wheelsmax, edgeracing and a few other small companies
