Who cares. Clearly the guy is an idiot. He's a Mod and he doesn't know that's it's an I4 and not a V4?

The salesperson had an 08' Fully loaded V6 and an 08' Fully loaded V4 brought out for test drives. We started with the V4 since he wanted me to be able to fairly discern the differences between transmissions and engines. The V6 was a carbon copy of the V4 except for the 6 speed transmission.
they werent even really bashing the camry.. i think quite a few people on their supported the camry against the accord.. as for the OP, he labeled HIMSELF as "Mega Moderator". That was his first and only post lol..

As far as performance goes, I'd agree the Honda has it, but only because of the NSX. And it's not even close to being reasonably priced for the performance it offers. The Toyota Supra would take those honors.

Actually, he has some +11k posts. That post #1 refers to the first post in the thread. Anyway, back to the topic at hand.
I think the Camry SE V6 has plenty of performance and handling -- while still having a smoother, quieter ride that any Accord.
And my 2004 Accord I4 EX-L coupe was an utter bucket of bolts piece of junk rattletrap -- oh, the drivetrain might go for years without problem, but the interior had abysmal build quality.
Interestingly, during all of my "upholstery work" with the old XLE, I checked out the prices for the same interior bits from an Accord -- the Honda stuff was LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE of the Toyota parts. And, in my experience, that equalled the quality differences between the two cars -- Honda was just "cheap junk" compared to the materials Toyota uses. For instance, I really don't expect that my Camry leather will wear out in less than 20,000 miles like the Honda leather did.
True, a Camry LE I4 is not going to be the most exciting car you can find, but you can get more luxury, and you can get more performance, should you so desire. And the LE I4 is still going to be a comfortable, quiet, competent, and reliable vehicle, at a fine price -- that's why Toyota sells so many of them!

i think the design goals were different since the design and construction
camrys market to families and for the comfort of the ride... i'm sure they had the technology to make the camry sporty as hell but it wasn't what they were aiming for.
accord appears to be marketing the new families and young teens. who love the high torque fast cars.
but still toyota quality >honda quality... and shouldn't that matter the most if your buying your car haha
ahh theyre acura people...what are you gonna do?
theyre just the grown up versions of the kids that used to mod out civics and such....they way they see it Honda > all
sure honda builds amazing 4 cyl engines (K series, F20 and F22 S2k motors, B series), but they cant build worthwhile larger engines, and toyota definitly takes the honors in quality tho...my dad has an 05 TL and the interior is absolute junk , as the leather is worn, the dash faded, headliner is collapsng around the 3rd brake light and other small issues...the paint is also shit, and looks terrible even though its always handwashed and waxed monthly....my dad had been buying acuras since 1992 and this is by far one of the worst cars weve had...i think hell be going with the lexus GS350 next time...
but no car is perfect, and how can you trust bashing of the camry by an acura fourm? its like talking about how we bash the accord here from time to time...its all preference and perception IMO.
