is there a easier way to cover them up rather than taking the head lights off and putting a piece of a soda can+JB weld?
maybe folding the flap down and covering the edges with JB weld?
planning to get HIDs next week and want to find a easy way out cause im a noob when it comes to workin on cars

You need to bend down the flap inside the halogen projectors to cover them. There should be a DIY around these forums.
Actually, thats not all there is to it. You also need to literally "cover" them with something, whether it be JB weld or with a piece of aluminum. Bending the flap alone won't give you a clean cutoff.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

Not too sure. I haven't personally had to deal with it 'cause I've never installed HIDs into housings that weren't designed for them, so other than knowing what squirrel spotters are, how they work, and how to get rid of them, I couldn't give you any real details. Maybe someone else on here has done it.

As of March 1, another $2200 body shop bill due to deer attack..
In the mean time you can just bend down the flaps, until you can cover them with something. I was lucky enough to have long enough fingers that I was able to just reach in there and push them down with one of my fingers.
anyone know a professional installer that I could take it to in the greater toronto area to correct the issue....thanks in advance....
Why would you do that? All you need is about 2 minutes of your time to fold down the squirrel spotters. It's a good idea to cover them up with something else, but I only have mine folded down which drastically reduces the glare (some is still there), but I never get flashed by oncoming traffic, and because my car is lowered it helps a bit as well.
All you need to do is use your finger or something like a pencil to fold them down.
for the thread starter, there's a stickied thread with full on 6 pages or something about this issue.
can someone post a picture of their light against a wall without the jb weld and only pushing the metal flap down.. i'm curious to see how much the jb weld really blocks, otherwise i'm just going to push it down for the mean time.
