5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I see many people here buy and love their Camry SE. I would not buy my 08 SE V6 if there is no SE trim. I would probably buy a Infiniti G35 or Lexus IS250 which are a little more expensive.
Camry has not been the car for young people. It is mid-age family car. I see the Gene 5 SE model is not much different than the LE, but the Gene 6 SE comes with the body kit which take my attention. V6 is powerful too. Are these the main reason why you buy your Camry SE?
for the gen 6: slap on a razzi kit, better wheels, retro and black out headlamps, grab a beer, and call it a day. there's your makeshift SE imo. as for the suspension and interior- that's a whole different story.
for the gen5: eh, not much of a difference than LE imo, aside from the boring grey (or beige) LE interior.
i most likely wouldnt buy it. With the SE it looks better, different from the others. And your getting stuff that cost more too, eg fogs, spoiler, different seats, interior difference, etc.
i did, oh.. i guess that question doesnt apply to me

As of March 1, another $2200 body shop bill due to deer attack..
If there is no SE trim in Camry, I probably go for 08 Honda Accord EX-L V6 for the same amount of money. The body kit for the SE does make the different.
Who needs a SE when you have a CE...best bang for the buck..i.e the CE...you pay low up front and lose the least amount of $$$....don't forget every car you buy is a DEPRECIATING asset...the higher amount you pay, the more you lose. My 2 cents.

who needs a camry when u can buy a Saturn they all do the same right? take u from point a to b
lol
I probably wouldnt have gotten the camry without the SE model. I preferred to have all exterior customizations straight from the factory. IMO: Wheels+rims, fogs, body kit, chrome tip, seat material, the lighted speedometer, telescoping steering wheel etc.. was way worth it for a great car that is going to last me through 150k+ miles (still only have 3600 lol). And in Blue Ribbon metallic, it really shines when the sun hits.
If i hadn't seen the camry se, i was looking at the Chrysler 300. But then sooo many people started getting that car. So i knew the camry would be a hit but very few ppl would choose blue ribbon as a color so I still feel unique.
