Power Window Problem

Yesterday I drove to a shop to do tire rotation. I pressed the power window button to lower the window. It did not. I thought I got a problem. I tried to button again to raise the window. It moved a little. This gave me confidence that it is still working. After a few up and down presses, the window finally moved down. I think the rubber insulation is so tight that the power window did not have enough force to move it down the first time. My question, does any one have an idea how to fix this? I think some kind of lubricant will do. But which one?

Not the same as yours, but in my case, the front power windows give a big "thud" whenever I roll them down. It's as if it's sealed tight to the upper portion of the door. So when I press down, you can literally feel the entire door shaking. This normal?

^^ yes mceatalot thats normal....they just tend to seal quite well, which is what prevents water from getting in
to the OP, that doesnt sound normal to me, and id go to the dealer and have it checked out...sounds like a warrenty issue and you can get if fixed NOW for free...dont wait till it breaks and the car is our of warrenty, cause power window parts arent cheap, and neither is toyota labor (id know it pays my bills )

Mine did the same as mceatalot. No big deal for me. But then the window squeeked once as I rolled it down. I took off the panel and added a little lube. No more squeeks if anyone else has the same issue, that is a simple fix.

I soak my seals with silicone spray. It prevents them from drying out. Nothing else works as well although Armor All on them is better than nothing. warning, silicone spray leaves a terrible chemical stink that needs to be vented or aired off.

roll your windows down and soak ALL the seals on the door and window including the inside portion of the window seal, leave the windows down for an hour or two. This might help the window action.
Bear in mind too, slamming the door will sometimes throw the window off track.
