Gen6 08 camry se headlights doorsills

i am new to TN and also the whole car thing.. i have a 08 camry se and i want to make the headlights look brighter? i dont know if it is the right word, brighter, but i dont think my headlights look bright. i was driving today and 6th gen camry came up behind me and the headlights seemed to be like a pure white with a slight blue. i thought it was a benz or a bmw at first, but after it passed me i saw it was an XLE. how can i get these lights on my car??? i did some research and found 6000k HID??? i have no idea what this means. also i looked on eBay and found replacement headlights with a black tint. do i need these new headlight to have the brighter beam?? or can i just go to autozone and but headlight bulbs and get the same results??

im kinda 50/50 if i have these light beams... when i look at my headlight turned on and upclose they seem yellowish, but when i move my head down they seem white. the sticker on my car says
-Halogen Auto on/off Sport Trim Headlamps
do i???

alos i saw doorsills on eBay for like 60$ shipped that have a blue light... if i but these im just sup to tape them on with 3M. is this ok? i thought that they would have to be installed and the factory doorsills removed, but i guess that is not the case. what are the power source for the lights??

thanks to everyone who helps out!! appriciate it.

BTW how much you you pay for ur SE?
i think the dealer took advant of me bc im went by myself and im not even 5"3' tall.aslo bc im a girl.
i got an 08 SE with the JBL 6disc/8 speker, trunk mats, bluetooth, rearlip spoiler, moonroof.
$2000 at signing, 36 lease for $413 + exteneded warenty( i think for 60month) and a residual value of 15,000. ( im gonna buy the car one the lease is over) the guy at the dealer said it better to lease the fincance the car out??? also 1st month payment was paid for by dealer, so technically 1600$ due at signing.
my BF said i got ripped off and my rent are pissed... but its all good bc i can affor the car and the payments. + i saved like 8000 just to get this car.

Do not put HIDs in your car without proper modifications, the best of which would be to put HID optics in the place of the current halogen optics.

What do you mean the lights don't look bright? They look dim to you while in the car or in the mirror? When looking at projector type lamps in the mirror, they look very small because of the way light is output. They have a sharp cutoff and above that cut off it looks dim because it doesn't shine light in that direction.

Whiter light != brighter or more output. It's purely an illusion.

yeap the lights that you were refering to is called HID lights. you can get HID kits off ebay very2 cheap nowadays. but some guys here prefer to get TSX projectors retrofitted to their headlamps for better output, but for me personnally i think camry's stock projectors are just fine. If you're buying off ebay make sure that you're buying HID Kit, not just some HID look bulbs. HID kit consists of 2 bulbs, 2 ballasts and all the necessary wirings. installation should be pretty straight forward and plug & play

Also HID comes in many different types, for example 4300K, 6000K, 8000K, 10000K. In most instances 6000K is sort of white-ish, 8000K is a bit blue-ish, depends what colour you want. From what i heard 6000K is the best since it gives you maximum output of lights, 8000K-up is bright as well but less output

im not sure how you'd install door sills since i dont have some, but you can wire them to your dome light, you'd need to take some panels off to reach the cables, im sure other members here can help you with that

hope that helps, welcome to TN btw

if u want xenon do a retro( http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/ ) i have done 7 differnt reros and
kits = suckyness
the color u see is the cut off, stock it has a slight bluish at the cuttoff, like at abou 20 -30 feet with your lights pointed to a wall u see a fuzzy blue at the top of the step. it is the projector not the bulbs. that is what other drivers see.
all camry look blue from a distance. and give off the illusion of xenons.
the auto on off, if u havnt had your drls disabled, the drl come on during the day and at dusk the light turn on and off by themselves, and parking garages.

the sill they is a write up on here for them.
Lighted door sills

as for price, i got my 07 se w/ the jbl six disk changer w/ bluetooth hands free, sport leather heated seats and heated mirrors, sunroof, traction control and vsc, spoiler, truck mat and floor mats, trd 18" wheels, everything u can get on the i4, at the begining of jan for 25599, i got the extended warrenty, quatium paint sealent, gap insurance, and theft. with a 3500 down payment, i got a payment of 400.11 a month for 72 months but i got a good intrest rate. anfd payed 500 on my first payment, so that is extra on principle, and the overall term goes down.

4300k gives u the best output
