TSB NV015-07 - Knocking Noise from Front of Moon Roof - 12/13/2007
Some 2007 - 2008 Camry customers may complain of a knocking noise from the front of the moon roof above the driver's or passenger's head while driving. Use the repair procedure to improve the situation.
The new TSB is 0089-08. I don't know how to put it on this forum, but if you PM with your email address, I'll send it to you.
I had it done. The rattle came back. Took the car back and they took it apart to check the work and put it back together. Got most, but not all, of the rattle the second time. Takes all day, by the way.

I just got this TSB performed last week and it is great. No more stupid noise coming from the roof.
Did you have to go for a test drive and have the problem be recreated??
Reason i ask is because it dosnt happen to me all the time... and i dont want to take the car in and them say they cant fix anything bc nothing seems to be wrong.

Nope, I just told them about it when I took it in for the 10k maintenance. They know there is a fix and they applied the fix. If you dont have the problem then dont fix what isnt broke. I had a problem everyonce and a while and now its gone.
Coolbeans, The TSB is in the mail. I took a copy of the TSB with me and asked that it be done. No problem. Gave me a loaner.
When I took it back I took another copy of the TSB (They kept the first one.). The service writer told me they drove the car and heard the problem. They put 19 miles on the car the second time. Gave me another loaner.
BTW, I asked the service writer about TSB's and got the "Deer in the headlights" look. I got the TSB by paying $10 to a Toyota site that Njerald mentioned.
well, I just got back from my dealer and they said that i would have to leave the car there and pick it up tomrow late afternoon. when i asked about a loaner car, they said that they couldnt give me one. So I ended up telling them i would come back tormow after i find someone to give me a ride.
is there a rule or loaners being required on warrenty work? or is a loaner car like a "good will" kind of thing that differes from dealer to dealer?
Yes, i did take the TSB copy with me... the service person Okayed the repair, he just said that he could NOT give me a loaner and i would have to leave my car there over night. he said that a shuttle could take me home...
