5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I recently bought a 2008 Camry SE and want to change out the stock bulbs to something a bit brighter. I checked online to find out the size and bought a set of GE Nighthawk 9005 bulbs but when I went to install them they didn't fit as the pins were completely different from the stock phillips bulb (they were further apart). I went back to the shop and checked the silverstars (9005's) and they had the same pins as the GE's. So back in the stock bulbs went and back to the drawing board I go.
What is the actual size of the stock/replacement camry bulbs (08 SE)?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Also any suggestions for a good quality HID conversion kit would be great.

Amazing....................
Try putting the 9005s in the High Beams. They don't fit in the Low Beams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your Owners manual might be a place to start.........
The 9005's were installed in the high beam's and still didn't appear to fit so thus the confusion.....Is it possible the assembly changed from 07 to 08? Arrgh...

assembly did not change. Just look for H11 bulbs, should fit ur lowbeams perfectly.
go for silvania or piaa.
oh btw, our camries uses stock silvania bulbs neways. If you want a brighter projection, go for the higher end model of the sylvania, the silverstar ultra.

Sounds like he is looking for high beam bulbs and the ones he have don't fit correctly. If you have the right bulb size (9005), I don't see why they won't fit. Did you compare the stock bulbs to the GEs to see if something was odd?

i found the stock halogen bulbs in the camry to be extremely weak.. others said it was actually pretty good for stock? i had to switch to HID, cuz i ran over two things on the freeway that could've been avoidable if i had brighter lights.
