Mazda 6 is too sporty as a family sedan car. It is more like a Civic. I think Mazda 6 go for different direction.

+1....I assume he needs the space of a mid size sedan like Camry, Altima, Accord, new Malibu. Mazda 6, G6, Legacy etc are really smaller. If he does not need that Camry type space, their are a lot of other cars to look at....

yes, but I think he was more referring to size and functionality. Speed6 and 6 are the same, like SE and CE. agreed?

if you're looking for long term reliability I would stay away from ford ..err mazda

I think you are right in having concerns about all 3 (altima, camry, accord) There doesn't seem to be a "bulletproof" V6 on the market now that the gen 6 has had so many reported issues.

My personal experience with the accord was not good. I had a 91 civic that blew me away with its quality & reliability. I "upgraded" to a 96 accord that turned out to be a piece of crap. IMHO civic quality>accord. And as stated by previous posters, nissan is way behind Honda, Yota, and even Subaru as far as reliability.

I've considered upgrading from my 03 4 banger camry to a gen 6 SE v6 but I'm going to wait it out for a while. I don't think its worth the risk of possibly becoming one of the many unlucky & extremely unhappy buyers. It's a very appealing car but the number of unsatisfied buyers is appalling compared to previous gens. Nevertheless, if accord, 6, altima & camry were the only choices I would still get the camry.

good luck and let us know what you decide to go with.

Here are some pictures for Mazda 6. Does it look more sporty than the previous version?

that is the new 6, i like it. needs a spoiler.

i bought my 07 camry se in jan of 08, had a noise in the rear, ended up being the first aid kit bouncing. other than that nothing.
in cars i went from a 97 es300 to the camry. camry rides firmer (duh se and trd wheels) but not as firm as my wifes tc, it is three times the car as the tc and hangs a curve as good if not better than the tc.. the camry is quiter than the lexus i had. and i like it just as much if not more. i have put 3500 miles on my car since i bought it. and it is getting 27-28 mpg on average.
a few thing i noticed was over by the a pillars, the dash flares up abouve the vent by like 1/8 on an inch. and the brakes squeel every now and then. and get the jbl if u decide on the camry, if u dont want to do a complete upgrade.

also checked out the accord but i didnt like the way it looked in the sadan. so i was prrolly already had it in for it. never did drive it though.

also i like the legacy.

i drove the altima sl 2.5, i liked the tranny, and the power was about the same as my 2.4 camry, but the camry rode better to me. and felt more solid. plus i got a great deal on the camry.
