F/I camry

so i recently just sold my other car. i have some money now in hand to spend into the camry and was thinking of some kind of forced induction. now if i wanna go custom TURBO for my v6 camry. how much am i looking at for install, tune, all those e-manage craps and stuff. and wat drawbacks should i be looking at. as of now its like 10% im going to be doing it but with the right answers and research iim honestly thinking of doing it.

why? because i have money that i wanna burn? no wayyyy i just think if i dont do it at my age now ill probably never get around to having a car HEAVILY modded.

yeah i know it sounds like another bullshit story seeing how my knowledge about turbo set-ups lack but if all else fails ill proably just send it to a performance shop and get it done there. any comments, questions, answers threats are welcome

I'm curious to know myself. Of course, this is for a 4-cyl. And if someone out there has the ballz to see if they can fit a t/c kit for a TC, please share it with us!

Wait until october. *hint hint* Then you will see a TC turbo on a camry 5spd.

For a custom kit? naw...

You're looking at a turbocharger, all custom piping, wastegate, a custom turbo manifold, beefier injectors, bigger fuel pump and management system, intercooler, blowoff valve, new headers, j-pipe, full exhaust, boost controller, air/fuel monitor, all the other little electrical tidbits, somehow flash the ecu... and tuning... lots of it... plus then comes maintanence

i'd say 7-9K range, realistically

after that, id say save your money

as for the 4 cyl I think a solara guy (widebody i believe) turbo'd the 4 cyl and then had it for sale for like 2700, so we know it's doable.. but like peach said anything is doable if you have the money..

but is it worth it

For that money what a custom turbo would cost, I would rather do a one of a kind mod for looks. None of the cars here are really hard core mod'ed (nice but not show car level). with 9k you can do some really neat stuff: custom paint, custom leather interior, custom seats, suicide doors, forged wheels, Naristo kit, custom audio/video, megans or air-ride, etc etc. and just for the looks the color matched strut bar, color matched K&N, Chrome exhaust/muffler, under body signature paint....need more ideas how to spend money on looks?

PS: I would love to see a megan lowered Camry with a custom wide body setup and 10" rims!

Thanks

That Solara looks super!! I do think the Camry has the sporty lines which would make a wide body kit look great if done tastefully.

...still need to chuckle about the pic of a wide body camry with 10" rims ..it's a very funny pic in my head, but hey you could see that in Tokyo (like the mini tires on lowered van's etc).
