MTEC 4350K vs. OEM - pics

Well, I ordered two packs of H11 bulbs and 1 pack of 9005's from AutomotiveLightingUSA.com, and I've got some pictures. But first, I've got to report that they sent me two packs of 9005's, and one pack of H11's. Not too happy about that, but I just e-mailed them tonight -- we'll see what they'll do about it.

Also, my one pair of H11's didn't arrive in very good shape -- one bulb had popped out and was upside-down. And the other bulb looked like it took the worst of the situation, as there were scratches in the coating on the top of the bulb. Check it out:

Obviously, I put the upside-down one back in properly (the one on the right) -- the one on the left has the scratches. See the scratches around the coating? You can even see it on the back of the bulb, in the form of blue spots that shouldn't be there. And, there's a bunch of crud on the inside of the packaging -- presumably the coating that got scratched up.

I installed 'em, anyway -- they seem to work, at least initially. Here's a look at them (along with the 9005's) in action -- can you tell which side is MTEC, and which is OEM?

I actually took this shot in the afternoon, cranking down the camera's exposure to get a darker shot that would show the lights better.

Oh, and here's what the 9005's in "DRL mode" look like:

Hopefully the company will come up with my second pair of H11's some day soon, and then I'll fight to get them installed into the fog lights.

Oh, and speaking of "fighting" -- man, the OEM 9005's were INCREDIBLY difficult to get out -- just a killer in terms of getting the wiring harness off of them. I was about ready to get out the sledge hammer and the chain saw.

Thanks for the pics. I really liked the MTEC 4300k's when I had them in my headlights. I'm thinking about switching out my 2500k Nokya foglight bulbs for the MTEC 4300k's as well.

Looks good.

I can't stand the looks of the old yellowish bulbs.

Did they give you a lifetime (exchange) warranty?

My highs and lows were relatively easy to install. Smaller hands would have helped me though.

Mine all arrived fine from MTEC Automotive.

Hope your exchange for the H11s goes ok.........

njerald -- We'll just have to see they have to say in response to my e-mail. As far as the H11's go, I went ahead and opened them, and installed them, so as far as I'm concerned, "I own 'em." And I sure can't see any difference between the two either from inside the car or looking at them from the outside. So, I'm not too awful concerned about them. Heck, even if they last a bit less than the results you're getting, it's not like they're 90-dollar PIAA's or anything....

Mainly though, I just wanted to jump back in and post another picture -- here's a shot of just the H11's, MTEC vs. OEM:

OT: you can also crank down the aperture if your camera has control on it. that would give a sort of better effect to just showing the light output of your bulbs.

You can really see the difference if you shine them on a white garage door or pull up behind a black vehicle.

I want to say that the MTEC is the one on the left and the OEM are on the right. I like the light blue collor.....something that I might have to consider when getting my Camry in the Summer.

Actually, I did a bit of that, too -- these were taken at f/8, to keep things in focus all across the image, and then I used various different 'negative' exposure compensation levels....

Do they still offer lifetime warranty on their bulbs?

Installing the bulbs into the harness? I know not to touch the new bulbs, should I wear gloves?
