Wet Windows - 2007 XLE

Hey,

It appears that whenever it rains or i get a car wash, water leaks into my door. Everything is working normally, but when my windows dry and I roll them down, they are wet when i roll them back up. It's more annoying than anything although I am sure that equipment isn't suppose to get wet. It happens to both front windows (drivers and passenger) and I brought the way new (the side mirrors were not even put on yet). Is this normal for a 2007 Camry XLE?

Well, after the car wash, yes it is normal. You shouldn't roll down your windows for about 2 hrs after the wash. As long as your interior is dry, you're OK.

I don't get this part:

"and I brought the way new (the side mirrors were not even put on yet)."

What do you mean?

It gets wet again because the felt on the belt moulding is still wet so of course it holds water for a few hours until it dries...

Sorry, i was typing fast before I went to lunch.

Its longer than a few hours though. If I roll my windows down a day or two after it rains, they come back up wet.

It is normal, How long will it take your clothes to dry if you put them outside wet and put a board over them?

I guess my question is, is it normal for water to be leaking into the door? If the window goes down dry and come up wet, that means water is sitting in there?

It because the weatherstrip gets wet and gets the window wet when you roll it down.

Water DOES get into the door. It's normal.

What about electric systems and motors getting wet, rust, rotting felt lining and toxic mold?

The electrical components are made for the climate. Has any of your cars had mold/electrical/ rust issues in the doors?

I think you have the assumption there is standing water in the door. There is not, the water getting on your window is water that was absorbed by the felt on the window belt moulding (weatherstrip) because it is felt (like a fabric) it holds the moisture and takes time to completly dry.

I think it's because of the weather. Here in California is already 80-90 degrees hot, so the water dry faster here in Cali compare to your area, which is much cooler... right?

Just like JSM1284 & TRD VVTi said, it's normal.
