OK. my last car with auto headlights, would come on at the start of dusk.
My Camry comes on to late, when all the other cars have their headlights on, I have to turn mine on manually until it gets really dark, then they come on.
Are there any setting to change this to come on earlier.
you may be able to adjust the light sensor yourself... i've never done it but supposedly turning it in one direction or another increases/decreases the light sensitivity. check your manual, it may have the procedure in there. if not, ask your dealer to either show you how or adjust it for you.

And do they come on with the wipers in the rain.

1. The dealer can adjust the light sensor for you.
2. It doesn't come with a sensor for the rain. That is more of a luxury item. I think even the XLE don't have it. I know some models of Lexus, Acura, Infinity, Cadillac, etc... has them.

its a black/smoke colored round sensor on the dashboard, close to the windshield. i suggest you read the manual for the proper location and procedure to adjust the sensor.

is there also a way to delay start the headlights. For example, I start my car it the headlight turn on automatically, even before my engine cranks. So when my engine does crank, my lights flicker a couple times. Is this normal? Delay start would help with this problem.

Use your emergancy/parking brake, and your lights don't come on when your engine cranks. Once the brake is released the lights come on...problem solved...

...and my 76 Lincoln Mark V had rain sensitive wipers , really. My XLE does not have it and I don't mind. I had a couple cars with it and it's pretty more like a nice gadget than a must have. The auto headlight makes sense as people forget to switch their lights on when it gets dark but nobody forgets to turn on the wipers when it rains....! The only benefit comes when you have really rain sensitive wipers, i.e. interval settings change as rain becomes more heavy/light and you don't need to fiddle around finding the right interval. But again, easy to do and you are not in danger to forget to adjust when it rains....

so i have to turn the lights on by myself when i turn the wipers on?!?!?!?! oh god, ill never buy another toyota again
if it gets dark, turn your lights on.. maybe theyll make a car that wipes your butt too so you don't have to get up for that
