Gen6 safe to use

i found these bulbs that are 80w for the foglights. is it safe to use?

is 80 watts too high?

no projector in the fog lights.

55w pulls 4.58 amps
80w pulls 6.67 amps

it is the heat from the bulb that wil melt the plastic holder. go look at the tc guys a 65w bulb melt there low beams.

what do you guys recommend? i have genesis 4300k hid for lows, i want something for my fog lights that will come close to the same color with out putting hid for my fogs. even if i put hids in my fogs, is it hard?

GD...did you at least cover up the squirrel spotters?

Don't put HID in optics designed for halogens...

Put Silverstars or something similar if you just want that look. Or put yellow bulb for that JDM look.

NO, it is NOT safe. Hoen recommends their harness for your safety. Only $10, not bad. Just remember that it is not a good idea to exceed engineered limits/tolerances.

Edit, I noticed h11 is out of stock but it is still a great idea to have some sort of protection. Also, http://www.suvlights.com/index.php?cPath=24_73 has harnesses as well. There is even a schematic for fog/auxiliary lighting. Enjoy.
