Seafoamed 2004 I4 Camry + other issues

I have 2004 I4 Camry with 66k miles. I have been using synthetic oils almost from the start. The latest I have is Mobil I oil + Mobil oil filter courtesy of fatwallet.com . Kragen was selling that combo for about $25 after mail in rebate about 1 month ago.

Last night, I put in about 2/3 can of seafoam into that tube (VSV?). It is green circled as you can see from the pictures. After 10 or 15 minutes, I restarted the car but I did NOT see any big white or black smoke coming out. I proceed to drive down the freeway and was amazed the ease I was able to get to 100 MPH. No big smoke coming out either. I drove about 15 miles.

Should I do another seafoam? It is a lot of fun.

Another issue is I notice there is a small leakage below the valve cover. It could had been when I used too much engine oil. Then I noticed my coolant is kind of low. The last time I had put in coolant was roughly 1 year ago.

When I drive, I don't notice white smoke or anything so my head gasket should be OK.

when i seafoamed my 2 camry, it smoke like crazy, as for the small oil leakage, it might be just a simply little oil spill when pouring in new oil.

There should be a vacuum line coming out of the brake booster and thats where you want to pour the seafoam in. I've circled it red in you picture. You will definitely see smoke.

Eric.

I saw smoke out of the vsv. Um then again maybe it was really clean!!
As for the oil leak around your valve cover.. Um my car has somewhat of the same thing I have 111k on it. Um I figured it was cause I overfilled by 1/2 a quart the last 2 oil changes, it seems to stop after Oil level is right around max on the dipstick.

Actually Eric, you're completely wrong. The brake booster hose doesn't feed all of the runners and the hose is too large which can allow SeaFoam to be drawn in too quickly.

There is a thread in the DIY section that explains all of this.

As far as the OP not getting smoke. I'm guessing that the engine speed was too high when the SeaFoam was added. That wouldn't allow the cleaner to do a very good job. Of course, I can't say for sure because I wasn't there.

The oil leak doesn't appear to be a leak at all but residue from oil that was spilled. It's clearly coming from under the engine cover right where the oil cap is located. I would make sure that the cap is tight and clean the area off with non-flammable brake cleaner.
