Canada tire and rim set up.. will i have rub issues

Im going with 18" rims and was wondering if this set up would work? the tire is 235/50/18 and the rims is 18x7.5/48. Since the tires from toyota are 215/60/16 and its roughly a inch higher than the stock rims i got from toyota, i dont think there would be a issue and all. Yet where i live theres alot of pot whole, so not to sure how that would affect the shocks if i bottom out.

lol... another 18inch rim tire thread... lol...

ok, first of all, what car do you have, obviously you have a camry, but depending on the generation, it will matter...

second... you need to know the offset of the 18 inch rims you want to get... this can impact whether you will rub or not, whether it fits etc...

third... it also matters on your suspension, is your suspension stock, is it lowered etc...

fourth... yes, bigger rims, equals thinner tires (most of the time anyways lol..) so you definitely want to consider that if you drive rough... it would be a shame to go blow lots of money on new wheels only to crack it soon after...

so if there are lots of potholes, you might thinking about going to a smaller rim like a 17...

also, use the miata tire calculator, and it will tell you exactly what size tire you will need to get closest to stock... where is this tire calculator you ask?... search for it...

and last but not least... before anyone jumps all over you on this... use the search function... rims in general... have been covered to death in this forum... and you can find out exactly what offset you need, what size tire... pretty much everything you need to know if you want bigger wheels... i hope that gets you started....

im assuming the 48 is the offset, so that will fit, it's pretty high but it will still fit fine

your wheel is 7.5 wide so i think it would better fit a 225 series tire. and as far as the 50 aspect ratio i would go with 45 but if you really want the extra protection 225/50 should be fine, itll just make the speedometer off a little more than the 225/45 would. 225/45s are still pretty inexpensive tires and i dont think theyll perform any less than what you want

so there isnt much chance youll have rub issues, but there are other things to worry about

good luck!
