USA Fujita Cai or K&N short ram

I am split between the 2 intakes available for the v6. Any one have either of the 2? Please give feedback on how you like it.

For me I would go with the K&N one just because it is CARB legal. Hopefully in the next month or two I'll have the K&N

is there any power difference between the 2. I was always told that CAI were better but carb legal is a plus.

I would get the CAI. the CAI kicks in the lower rpms, while the short ram kicks in on the higher rpms.

k&n has a HP increase guarantee
fujita can not guarantee HP increase.

even at cobb tuning they tested Fujita CAI on a G35 and there was no HP increase

go with K&N

Have you read the numerous debates on intakes? Probably not...

IMO, leave it stock. Put the $200 towards an HID conversion.

well the k&n show a 10hp gain at 4700rpm but then in leans to about 5hp at peak.

i called fujita because they dont have the intake on there website. i asked about the gain and of course no answer. he gave me a guess of 10hp.

i had a aem on my tc and loved it. never had a problem in the rain but i am concerned because the v6 will suck up more air so thats a higher possibility to get water in the engine.

well i guess its the carb legal K&N is the way to go. Same price $260

Does it "kick in" like VTEC?

Don't waste your money. Get a drop in filter for the same performance at a fraction of the cost.

Gen6 SRI or CAI

I am debating between the K&N short ram and the Fujita CAI. K&N specs 12hp at 4700rpm and nothing avail for the v6 CAI. The 4cyl gets almost 15hp.
The Short Ram is carb legal and the CAI is not.
Any suggestions?

Don't waste your money. The Camry has a CAI from the factory. Install a high flow air filter.

Would you think just using a K&N high flow air filter (and not a CAI) is the way to go for most modern cars - not just the Camry?
