5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I have the Newest v7.1 Nav Disc w/the v5.1 Lock Out Override Menu!
I was finally able to get a working copy of the newest v7.1 Toyota/Lexus nav disc w/the injected v5.1 loading menu to work. After much effort and MANY expensive coasters I finally got a 100% functioning disc and have successfully made copies that work perfectly as well. Please don't ask me how I did it because I'm embarrassed to say that I don't know. I tried so many programs with so many different settings for ripping and compiling that I'm really not sure which combination resulted in a successful image. All I know is it was substantially more difficult than the v6.1/v5.1 disc so I'm thinking Toyota has put some added security in to make this more difficult or something. Had someone offered to sell me one of these before I started knowing what I know now I would have gladly forked over the money to avoid all this effort. It was one of those things thought that once I started I had to make it work so it became a mission for me.
The new maps and POI's are nice and since we live in a brand new subdivision I was very happy to see that our streets are now on this newest version and we now have a home according to the nav! Before we were off roading in the Camry Hybrid but now there's a street and address. I was even more shocked to see several streets of new subdivisions near us that aren't even started yet. It also has more updated POI's but we don't use those real frequently so I wasn't able to test them out as much but I'm sure it's a great leap forward since they add millions each year. The one downside for some is that you will have to 'I Agree' screen each time you start it up. Since I had the v6.1 map disc before I never got used to not having this. For those that have a v7.1 disc you might be used to not having to do this because it doesn't have that requirement. To me, this is a small trade off for full functionality while in motion. Everything works, the address input, Bluetooth phone interface and anything else you can do while at a stop you can do while in motion with this disc.
This is the only option that doesn't require you to take apart your dash, take out your deck or splice wires and mount switches. LockPick offers something similar but it costs $300 to get the functionality that this offers and installation is on the LockPick requires several hours and digging into the dash. With this disc, you basically eject the map disc, put this one in and do a short override sequence whenever you want to use it while in motion that takes like ten seconds. Easy as that. I don't do the override every time I start the car because you can input it while in motion so it's easy to do it right before you use it and this way you don't have to do it each time you start the car.
The disc I have works with the following map discs:
So, take your map disc out and if it's one of these three versions just make sure that it has the set of numbers and letter printer somewhere on it EXACTLY as they are shown above. So if you have v7.1 make sure it has BOTH '464210-0971' & 'U32' on it or this disc will not work. It will work in most generation 5 (06 and up except Solara) Toyota/Lexus vehicles as long as the map disc has these numbers above. I posted it here because this seems to be the area where these are discussed and I have personally tested it in a Camry Hybrid.
If you're interested in a disc please PM me and no requests on this thread.

Lockpick's site can be found here. This disc will unlock EVERYTHING the Lockpick will at a fraction of the price and installation is night and day easier too.

Well I dont wanna have to hit "I agree" all the time. Are you just using the readily available files to make this disk and then selling it? All I need to do is find the right disk/burner combination and I can make that myself. I already have disk 7.1. Sorry but I just dont think its right paying someone $50 or $100 to burn me a DVD with files that are available all over the net...If I cant find another way, I will burn the disk myself and anyone else who wants it is welcome to it for the cost of a DVD. ($2?)
Thanks for the website, I will check that out...
Many have tried to do this and have given up and unless you have lots of time to experiment, it is not worth trying to do it again LOL
Congrats to OP !!

That's cool if you don't want it and even cooler if you can do it yourself. I succeeded where MANY have failed (and almost gave up myself numerous times). I must say, there are QUITE a few people who don't seem to have a problem with it either and are already enjoying them as we speak. Like I said in the original post, it works and this is something that is not easily done on the v7.1 discs. I'm not sure if they added extra security but it's not a leisurely stroll through a park the way the v6.1 discs were. It's not for everyone but for those looking for an inexpensive easily installed alternative to what else is available this is a great option. Lockpick is perfect if you MUST do away with the 'I Agree' button, have $200+ to spend and don't mind setting aside an entire afternoon to take your dash apart to remove your head unit and install it. Different strokes I guess and that's why there's so many options available. As I've stated, knowing what I know now about how difficult this was if someone would have offered me this disc already complete before I started it would have been a GREAT trade off on my time. If you don't want it, that's cool but LOTS of people do.

Exactly. I doubt I'll ever do it again looking back. When v8.1 comes out I'll just let someone else figure it out, do all the hard work and pay them for a copy. lol

Update: I have confirmed from multiple sources that the disc also works with the following v6.1 map disc set of numbers in addition to the sets previously listed: 464210-0793
Same numbers as the one already listed but the last number is a 3 instead of a 2 and seems to be most prevalent in the Tundra. Bottom line is that this disc works perfectly in these decks as well and I will update the first post to reflect this.

I have an 08 highlander limited with version v 6.1 map disc. Will your modified disc work for my car? If it does then let me know detail how to order and how much would it costs from you. Thanks
