As usual, you just troll through a thread to post something irrelevant to stir up shit. Surprise.

Of course your buddy vntperformance has all sorts or great information to post like going WOT will cause a lifter to break, or that Toyota branded oil is Quaker State conventional oil...

It seems that all the winners stick together. That's sarcasm in case you didn't understand that.

I'm not the nut swinger with a TRD Insignia in my signature...with a 5th gen camry that TRD probably makes nothing for. No need to try and prove me wrong, cause I could careless.

hahahahaahah......

sorry guys....i was snowboarding and just got back.......

after having the starter replaced....the car ran....but idled very poorly and died at stops.

apparently this was due to a valve in the throttle assembly. with time, the valve gets dirty, but as long as the battery is hooked up the computer still recognizes it.
after unhooking the battery, the computer resets..(i know thats not the correct word, but i hope that comes across clear.)..and doesnt recognize the valve because it is dirty...

so after having this replaced...the car runs fine....

my only complaint with the Toyota service is that after replacing the starter, they said that there was a slight problem with the idling....i assumed they had hooked it up to the computer as i had noticed no idling problems before..
i asked if they car ran, started and drived, and they said yes..
after getting 100ft, the car died at a stop sign....it seems to me they should have told me that the valve needed to be replaced.

but...its just as much my fault as it is theirs...
on a lighter note..i put my summer wheels back on, but now i have to wait til summer to get my coilovers.

You replaced the throttle body too?

The throttle body just needs to be cleaned and your car will idle normally again. That sometimes happens when it's dirty and the ECM is cleared (battery disconnected).

Perhaps vntperformance can tell us how the starter relay being faulty was fixed when you replaced the starter...

i wanted to clean it, rather than replace it, but the car was already at the dealership....and theyre not too big on just cleaning....

i know it probably would have done the job, but it would have been a lot of hassle...and i really needed my car back.
