Well I was bored today, so I tried on some new shoes. 56k Sorry
Sorry this isnt a Adam thread of me tearing apart the car into 5 thousand peices. Instead I decided to mount my old rims that I am trying to sell so I can move up to 20's.
Now before everyone jumps on me and says lower it or anything of that nature, these rims are not what I will be running this yr just was bored so I threw them on to get a sence of how the car will look with rims. Basically I figured that with 18s the car looks like a monster truck and I can only imagine how it will look with the 20s.
The 18s are 245/40/18 I plan on run 235/35/20 or 225/35/20 The rims I am getting are going to be 20 x 7.5.
Now for all the suspension and rim guro's what is the smallest drop I can do without rubbing and messing up my front, My front lip already has some scapes due to the incline on my driveway. If all else fails I might look into the coilovers when I save up the money. Well anyways heres some pics. Enjoy
I don't get the reasoning for you switching rims since 20's and 18's are completely different.. for some reason, the rims look REALLY tiny... I ran 18's with the same tire size and it looked a lot bigger than that
My last set before the GS rims was similar style like your rims. It does make the rims appear smaller. Go for the Gunmetal GS rims or MRR HR2. They will look just fine in 18".
Also, you said you gonna get 20x7.5, that is not wide enough. Your rims will be tuck-in for the most part depending on the offset. If you want a more flush look to the fender then I would go with 20x8.5 +40 to +45. Of course you can go less than +40 offset but you'll have to run strech tires which result in a smaller sidewall so the ride will be even stiffer. For your reference, I had 20x8.5 +38 offset with 245-35-20 tires and it rubs after the dropped.
