245 is ok for a X8 wheel, but its the minimum recommended width, i suggest 225/45 it wont be too much of a gap, it should just be around the same as the stock wheel

2007 Super White CE 5-spd. Stock 4 Lyfe, well I have new driver side doors and side pillar.. are those mods?
As of March 1, another $2200 body shop bill due to deer attack..
Tire size calculators say the 245/45 rim width range is from 7.5 to 9...
I have seen some 07 camrys with this tire setup, i just dont want to have any problems at all.. I guess I would want the widest tire and smallest gap without rubbing..
225/50 would pretty much solve the gap issue but isn't too wide..
Also, for people with GS430 wheels...
I contacted a company selling them on Ebay for 500 plus 80 for shipping.. He said they are stock silver color and replicas of OEMs...I know gs430 wheels come in chrome and gunmetal chrome..anyone have the silver ones???

Stock gs430 wheels are "hyper silver", thats what lexus call them. Most of the chrome one are aftermarket chrome, not factory.

I have 20x8.5 rims with 43mm offset. Tires are 245-35-20's with no rubbing. No drop on the car..... yet.
I just checked a tire size calculator and your wheels (245/35/20) and 245/45/18 have extremely similar dimensions of course besides the profile...
if you have no rubbing at all then i guess there would be no problems with the 245/45's
Does the car handle much better with the 30mm increase width??
Yes, the handling is better but ride is harsher. Mileage is lower too. I really don't mind the ride although my wife and mother in law have both commented on the bumpy ride. I really like the look though and am very happy over all.
well you also have 20's with only a 35 profile, the harsher ride would be expected.. hopefully it wouldnt be too bad with my future setup, thanks for the help though
Yes you are correct. The sidewall height will make the largest difference is ride quality. Having a wider tire will give you a little harsher ride, but not too much. I really wouldn't worry about it.
